A guide to golf in west and
south Perthshire, including the towns of Crieff, Comrie & Auchterarder
and the surrounding area of Strathearn.
Strathearn boasts a wide variety of courses set among some of Scotland's
most impressive scenery. Golf, as we know it, originated in Scotland. The first
written record of the game is James II's banning of golf in 1457. Apparently too
many people were playing golf while they should have been practicing archery.
A number of hotels and guest houses also offer special golf inclusive packages.
