Strathearn Perthshire Scotland > History > Genealogy

About 25 years ago my wife and I spend a full day in Register House in Edinburgh and traced all our ancestral lines back to people born in the 18thC. I have also been told we were lucky! And of course it's possible to go back further.

The Internet provides a valuable source of information on what you need to do and where to look. Try starting at ScotsMart Web Directory. Also don't forget to look at the News Groups.

Our sister site gives further historical information about Perthshire Clans and their Castles.

To carry out family history research properly you need someone to 'do some leg work'. You can try this yourself or the links below should put you in touch with professional help. Think carefully before simply writing off or sending an email to someone other than a professional and asking them to do your 'leg work'. Family Roots research can involve a lot of effort.
