My mother's maiden name is Murdo
(hence I got it as a christian name) and no-one in the family knows how the
name came to be. Did someone sign the register incorrectly while under the
influence or is there some other reason for dropping the "ch" ? There aren't
that many of the Murdo Clan left but we know that there have been many of
them in the Eden (Alvah, Banff) area going back to pre 1700. Where did they
come from prior to that ? Any comments / ideas gratefully received |

My father Fraser Murdoch was born in Perth and his father John Andrew Murdoch
in Kilsyth. From what I can assume Kilsyth was the family home for sometime.
